UKPSF

This special advisory committee of the RSB brings together the UK plant science community to develop a coordinated approach to policy and practice in research, industry, funding, education and outreach. The group provides a platform for knowledge exchange regarding matters in the plant sciences sector as well as a pathway by which Member Organisations can contribute to RSB outputs in this area. A full list of members is shown below. 

The RSB is involved in a number of additional activities in the plant sciences sector. A selection of these outputs are summarised below.

Plant Health Undergraduate Summer Studentships

We arrange funded undergraduate studentships in plant health, hosted by leading researchers across the UK. The studentships programme is supported by Defra. Please see our studentships webpage for more information.

Plant Health Professional Register

The Plant Health Professional Register provides independent recognition and validation of plant health competencies, professional standing and achievements. It is suitable for people working in a wide range of plant health and biosecurity roles and sectors, including government, the horticulture and crop industries, forestry, the natural environment and research. Plant health networking events The Royal Society of Biology has partnered with Defra to deliver a series of plant health networking events and workshops aiming to develop a diverse community across the sector and build UK plant health capability, capacity and resilience.

Growing the future report

In January 2019, we published our report, Growing the future. This report highlights to policymakers and others the excellence of plant science in the UK, and its importance to the biosciences, the economy, and society both at home and around the world.
