Join us for a talk and a behind the scenes tour of Colchester Zoo following our AGM 2017.

Colchester Zoo has over 260 rare species, many are part of breeding programmes. Following on from our AGM, there will a talk on animal diet and health after which we will go on a behind the scenes tour of the zoo including looking at exotic animal faeces.


10:00 Check in at 'guest services' if attending the AGM to be held at 10:30.
11:00 A talk on animal diet and health plus a further hour looking at exotic animal faeces and behind the scenes tour.
13:30 Tour ends but do feel free to go around the zoo until closing time.


Please note there is a charge for entry to the zoo but the talk and tour are free. The group discounted zoo entrance fees are as follows:
Adult £18.39
Child (3 - 15 year olds) £12.79
Senior £16.79
Disabled* / Carer £9.20

* Proof of disability is required.


Colchester Zoo is located just south of Colchester on Maldon Road in Stanway. (Set Sat Nav for CO3 0SL.) Car parking is free and disabled car parking spaces are available close to the zoo entrance for those with Blue disability badges. Places on the tour and talk are limited to a maximum of 30 and will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis with first preference given to those RSB members attending the AGM should the event be over-subscribed, so book now to avoid disappointment.

If you wish to attend the AGM, as well as the zoo tour and talk, please go to the AGM page first and register and pay the zoo entry fee on the AGM page, then separately only reserve your place(s) on the tour and talk on this page, do not make any additional payments. Please do read and note the guidelines for visitors, as well as the information on risk assessments before you register.

Also the zoo and event organiser need to be notified immediately on booking of any severe allergies at least 2 weeks prior to the event and it is recommended that those visitors with nut allergies do not use the animal feed at Familiar Friends as the zoo cannot guarantee that the food has not come into contact with nuts or nut products during the manufacturing.
