Join us for the first of our Biology Week 2017 events, on our annual Fungal Foray at The Chantries.

To celebrate the British Mycological Society's UK Fungus Day, we will have a tour of The Chantries just outside Guildford, led by Professor Maurice Moss, to find and identify the fungal fruiting bodies to be found there. This event always results in an interesting and varied collection of mushrooms, toadstools and wood rotting species and we can guarantee you an informative and memorable morning.

Please note that the area over which we will walk may be rough, hilly and / or damp, so please come appropriately garbed.

Location

We will meet at 10:30 in The Chantries car park. To find The Chantries, take the A281 south from Guildford, then about a mile out of Guildford turn East into Pilgrims Way. As you reach a bend in Pilgrims Way (GU4 8AD) you will find a track on the right at the end of which is the car park. (Grid reference: TQ00321 48396). See map for more details.
