This course is run by the Field Studies Council for the Royal Society of Biology's 2017 Intermediate Biology Olympiad Gold award recipients.


Applications to attend this training course will be checked against a list of the above group of competition winners to confirm eligibility to attend this free training course. Please note: the course is only open to students.

Course aims

To further develop language skills and understanding in investigative fieldwork.

This course will cover ecology training on grassland ecosystems, freshwater life, an introduction to diversity and abundance and hypotheses. Students will be using invertebrate and plant species lists and comparing of two sites.

Timings

10:00             Meet at the Park office.
                     Morning session: Grassland investigations (plants and animals)
12:30 - 13:30  Lunch
                     Afternoon session: Freshwater investigations
16:00             Finish
