Visit to Buckfast Abbey Gardens and the world-famous Bee Department
Insect pollinators are under threat worldwide from a range of causes including disease, habitat loss and intensive land management. Healthy bee populations require land planted with a succession of high energy flowering plants. The world-famous bee department at Buckfast Abbey has worked closely with the garden team to create a rich environment for the bees.
This event includes a guided tour of the gardens led by head gardener Aaron Southgate, and a visit to the bee department with a talk from expert Clare Densley.
This event will be of general appeal to keen gardeners, members of the RSB and anyone interested in creating a healthier environment for key pollinating insects.
