An online talk on shark conservation genetics and population monitoring as part of the East Midlands branch Marine Biology Series of events
This online talk from Master's student Eduardo Gastal will dive into shark conservation genetics and population monitoring via the Brazilian Elasmobranch study group.
The talk is aimed at introducing the audience to the challenges facing shark conservation, including adverse effects on shark population genetics as well as looking at the Elasmobranch study group who work with multiple local organisations to collect data, monitor shark health and follow populations across Brazil and worldwide. All are welcome to attend.
The Shark Awareness Day resource packs are provided by Paige Strudwick who combines her talent for artwork with her science communication skills. The resource packs include posters, infographics, leaflets and colouring sheets, and will be provided for free when you register for this event.
