Presentations of posters submitted as part of the East Midlands branch Research Poster Competition

Event and competition outline

Both undergraduate and postgraduate students in any fields of biology are invited to submit their research posters under the hashtag #Biominds2021 on either the Instagram or Twitter of Royal Society of Biology East Midlands branch by 1st April 2021, stating their studentship status and country.

Posters will be assessed according to three criteria:
  • Poster design - presentation and visual communication
  • Research content - how easily this can be understood by the public
  • Number of likes from the public

Upon the selection, students will be invited to participate in the online conference on 22nd April as the second stage of the competition, where each of the participant will have a chance to present their poster at a 5-minute talk format. RSB members and members of the public are also invited to watch these presentations live over Zoom.

There will be three main prizes (a free year membership of the Royal Society of Biology) for each UK and international postgraduate students, and one for a UK undergraduate student.

Cost and booking

The competition and live presentations of posters are free to attend. To submit a poster, please visit the RSB East Midlands Twitter or Instagram. To register to attend the presentation of posters, please use the link at the top of the page.
