The Royal Society of Biology is jointly organising a special Science Hustings in advance of the elections to Holyrood
Organised by the Royal Society of Edinburgh, the Royal Society of Biology, the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institute of Physics, this hustings event will give the scientific community and members of the public the opportunity to quiz the political parties on what steps they will take to put science at the forefront of their work in the Scottish Parliament over the next term.
The event will be chaired by the campaigner and writer Talat Yaqoob FRSE and guests will hear from candidates from across the political parties in Scotland.
Covering the topics that matter most to the scientific community, event attendees will be able to put their questions directly to the party spokespeople, including:
- Julia Brown, Scottish Liberal Democrats
- Jamie Halcro Johnston, Scottish Conservatives
- Richard Lochhead, Scottish National Party
- Paul O'Kane, Scottish Labour
- Lorna Slater, Scottish Greens
Members of the RSB, in particular those on the electoral register in Scotland, are invited to register for the event.
The event will also be recorded and the recording will be shared via YouTube.
