A joint event by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex, Thames Valley and Wessex branches to the Basingstoke Canal.
Attendees will have the opportunity to travel down the picturesque Basingstoke Canal on the John Pinkerton II canal boat. There will also be a guide on board who will talk about the history and environs of the canal.
The Canal has been undergoing a restoration process since 1973, which has resulted not only in its re-establishment as a working navigation channel but in the creation of new waterside habitats for wildlife.
The boat is covered for all weathers and has a licensed bar serving teas, coffees and light refreshments, and has toilet facilities. Soft shoes are recommended footwear, with high heels being inappropriate.
The boat is accessed by five steps, and there is no wheelchair access, so helpers would be required to get wheelchairs onto the boat.
