Guiding the shepherds of tomorrow

Join us on a tour of the facilities at Coleg Cambria - Llysfai, one of Wales' industry leaders in land-based education, led by the farm manager. Learn how the shepherds and farmers of tomorrow are being introduced to novel and traditional shepherding skills.

Venue

We will meet our tour guide at Coleg Cambria Llysfasi site, situated on the A525 south of Ruthin, to see their working farm. You can find more information on getting to the college on their website and on this online map. As we will be touring typical farm buildings and yards, there may not be provisions for those who use accessibility aids. Parking is available on site.

Please note

As this tour will take place outside on a working farm, guests are asked to dress appropriately, including wearing warm, wind & water-proof clothes that are suitable for the weather, which you wouldn't mind getting dirty, and closed toe shoes which are easy to clean, such as wellingtons. We would also recommend a change of clothes if you wish to stay in the refectory after the tour.

If you are pregnant or immunocompromised, we would ask that you do not attend this event, as you could be at risk of zoonotic diseases. You can find more information about this on lechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru / Public Health Wales webpage.

For the health and safety of all visitors, attendees must follow specific guidelines as instructed by the staff member, including washing hands, cleaning footwear upon entering and exiting the site.

Who should attend

This event would be suitable for adults who want to learn more about shepherding skills and the lambing cycle, who are not pregnant or immunocompromised.

Cost and booking

This event is open to adults, and is free to attend. Spaces are limited and so advance registration is essential through the link at the top of the page.

Special requirements

If you have accessibility requirements, please let us know during your booking, and we will do what we can to accommodate your needs.
