Delve into the world of microscopy

Do you wonder what cells look like? What's inside a bee? How microscopes can be used to see bacteria expressing genes or the nuclei of fruit fly cells? The RSB North Western branch invite anyone who has an interest in biology and microscopy to take a peek at the smaller things in life.

Are you an A level student or someone with an interest in seeing biology from a different perspective? RSB branch committee members and students from Blackpool and the Fylde College will be on hand to guide you through an interesting and eye-opening practical evening in the College's dedicated teaching laboratories.

Come and take some selfies using our light microscopes and examine a range of cell types such as bacteria using our fluorescence microscope.

Who should attend?

This event is open to anyone with an interest in biology/microscopy, and would be suitable for adults and children 14+ years (accompanied by an adult). It would especially suit prospective A level students who will be able to see the college's science facilities.

Cost and Booking

This event is open to all, tickets are £5 for members, £10 for non-members. Advance registration is essential through the link at the top of the page.
