Bat spotting by punt along the river Cam with a Wildlife Trust bat expert
A Bat Safari punt for adventures at dusk towards Grantchester Meadows. The tour will be led by a knowledgeable Wildlife Trust Bat Expert who will make sure you get the most from your experience. The tours are chauffeured and include the use of specialist electronic bat detectors which convert the bats' sonar signals into audible frequencies.
Your guide will outline the characteristics and habitats of bats likely to be encountered on your trip and teach you how to use the detectors. You'll identify exactly which species of bat are flying close to your punt and find out about our amazing local species.
Punts are supplied with blankets and umbrellas but please come dressed appropriately for the weather on the night. The punt will depart from Granta Place Boatyard.
If there is sufficient interest from attendees, the branch committee will organise a venue for a drink and a bite to eat to socialise before the event. However, this would be at participants' own cost. Please let Penny Maplestone
know if you are interested in the pre-event food and drink by Wednesday 24 July 2020 at the latest.
