A Charter Lecture from the RSB East Midlands branch, focusing on the subject of diabetes


Join the RSB East Midlands branch committee for their annual Charter Lecture which, this year, will focus on research in the field of diabetes.

Professor Melanie Davies CBE, professor of diabetes medicine at the University of Leicester, will deliver a talk entitled 100 Years of Insulin. Professor Davies is the director of the Leicester NIHR Biomedical Research Centre, Director of the Patient Recruitment Centre Leicester and a Professor in Diabetes Medicine. She has published over 550 original articles and has over £60m of grant funding. She was awarded a CBE in the 2016 New Year's Honour's List for services to diabetes research.

Buffet refreshments will be available from 18:30 before the lecture begins at 19:15.

There are options to attend both in-person, or virtually via Zoom.

This event is free to attend and open to all. Places to attend in-person are limited, so advance booking is essential through the link at the top of the page. Upon booking, please select whether you wish to attend in-person, or virtually via Zoom. The Zoom meeting link will be circulated to attendees registered to attend virtually ahead of the event.
