A talk and guided tour around Diamond Light Source.
Diamond Light Source is the UK's national synchrotron. Working like a giant microscope, it harnesses the power of electrons to produce bright light 10 billion times greater than the sun, which can then be use to study a vast range of subject matter, from new medicines and treatments for disease to innovative engineering and cutting edge technology.
The visit to the site will include a 45 minute 'Introduction to Diamond' talk after which attendees will be given a guided tour of the facility, which is one of the most advanced scientific facilities in the world and helping to keep the UK at the forefront of scientific research.
