An guided tour around the Crocodiles of the World zoo.
Join Colin Stephenson, head of education at Crocodiles of the World, for a exclusive, after hours, guided tour around the UK's only crocodile zoo. The facility is home to more than 100 crocodiles, alligator and caimans from 18 different species of crocodile and has the largest collection of crocodiles in the UK.
The zoo is also home to other reptiles including a 2 meter long crocodile monitor lizard, alligator snapping tutles, Meller's chameleons and pig-nosed turtles. It is also one of only four zoos in the UK where attendees can see a Komodo dragon, the world's largest living lizard.
Location and accessibility
The zoo is accessible for people with disabilities and wheelchair users. The paths are generally concrete and there is level or ramped access to most buildings. There are two steps into the alligator building. The Crocodile House is easily accessible for wheelchair users, and there is an outside wheelchair ramp to access the deck walk that allows full viewing of the Nile crocodiles, Tomistoma and Saltwater crocodiles.
