A Big Biology Day is a one day science festival that celebrates the life sciences and engages the general public with an array of biological topics, through hands on activities, crafts and displays, bringing together a number of biological organisations under one roof.

Saturday 15 October 2016 - A mini science festival for the whole family. The day included a Great Biology Bake-Off where entrants captured biology in cake form.

Sunday 2 August 2015 - The second Big Biology Day Essex was a big success, with activities and workshops taking place throughout the day at the Sandford Mill Museum, Chelmsford and adjoining nature reserve.
