The Royal Society of Biology celebrates the generation and use of life science knowledge for the benefit of people and the planet and condemns its use for deliberate harm. The risks of science misuse should be minimised by all with the capacity to identify them. We believe that the risks of deliberate misuse are already small but nonetheless we support measures to ensure awareness of them among science leaders and among the scientists of the future. Training for reviewers, teachers and students should reflect this.
