Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Culture (EDIC) Grant

The Royal Society of Biology (RSB), the UK Society for Extracellular Vesicles (UKEV), and the Association of Reproductive and Clinical Scientists (ARCS) are collaborating to offer up to £1,000 in Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Culture (EDIC) grants.

Your submission should aim to champion EDIC within the biosciences. This could be done by Investigating, Addressing, or Amplifying an EDIC theme. The activities, events, initiatives, or opportunities could relate to a range of different areas, including (but not limited to) age, disability, neurodiversity, race and ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, LGBTQ+, pregnancy, maternity and paternity, or mental health.

Applications open: 4 August 2025 

Applications close: 23:59 on 14 September 2025


Please note that the activities, events, or opportunities must be delivered between 24 November 2025 – 1 July 2026.

Before applying, please ensure you meet the following criteria:

  • This grant is currently open to RSB, UKEV, and ARCS members, as well as non-members (biosciences-focused) based in the United Kingdom.
  • You should be over 18.
  • Eligible applicants can apply as individuals or on behalf of an initiative, community group, professional network, company, or not-for-profit organisation.
  • Grants are not available for activities, events, initiatives, or opportunities that have already occurred.

This grant scheme will use RSB, UKEV, and ARCS's charitable funds. Therefore, we will only consider non-profit applications.

  • For-profit businesses are not eligible.
  • The grant must not be used to pay a salary. This includes the cost of conference travel or research equipment.
  • Biology research projects that do not demonstrate an expected measurable benefit to EDIC will not be awarded. 

Recipients must submit a report describing the activities, events, initiatives, or opportunities supported by the grant. Final grant reports should be submitted one month after completion of the project. The RSB, UKEV, and ARCS jointly own the copyright to this report and the right to edit and publish any of the report's content through any of their communication channels or magazines.
