Join The Physiological Society to celebrate Sport and Exercise Science education's role in promoting lifelong health and jobs in Wales

The panel session and drinks reception will be held in the Senedd, the National Assembly of Wales, on Tuesday 28th January 2020 from 18:00.

Event outline

The Physiological Society and GuildHE recently published the joint report Sport and Exercise Science: Impact on the UK Economy and this event will also serve as the launch of Wales-specific data highlighting the impact of Sport and Exercise Science-related degrees on the Welsh economy. The Physiological Society data shows that 750,000 Welsh jobs employ SES graduates in industry sectors as varied as education and research; Sport, tourism, leisure and culture; and the service and legal service sector. In addition, roles in culture, media and sport are predicted to experience a 7% growth in the Welsh economy over the next decade.

In the past 12 months, Welsh employers posted nearly 2,500 jobs requiring SES skills in all parts of Wales. As such, the panel will touch on not only the health benefits of sport and exercise but also the skillsets that make SES graduates attractive prospects for a wide variety of roles.
