Guided tour in an off-road vehicle around the Knepp re-wilding project
The Knepp re-wilding project is based in a 3000 acre farm that has been allowed to run wild. Red and fallow deer, Exmoor ponies, Tamworth pigs and old English longhorns have been introduced and are all left unattended throughout the year. This re-wilding has resulted in the return of large number of declining species including the comparatively rare purple emperor and also significant numbers of green woodpeckers, turtle doves, spotted flycatchers, fieldfares, hobbies, woodlarks and nightingales.
Our guide will take us around the project in an off-road vehicle. However the event will also include some walking through the Wildland area so, as the ground is uneven, sturdy waterproof boots or wellingtons are recommended.
Please do not bring any dogs on this trip.
