A Natural History Live webinar from the Field Studies Council.

Joe Pecorelli will be the Field Studies Council guest speaker for this Natural History Live webinar. Joe is a conservation project manager with ZSL. He specialises in freshwater conservation and has been involved in ZSL's eel conservation project for 15 years.

The European eel (Anguilla anguilla) is Critically Endangered under the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List Categories and Criteria because it has markedly declined in abundance across all life-history stages in much of its natural range.  This talk will introduce you to the life cycle of the eel, summarise the many threats to eel and focus on what we can do in freshwater to help them. Be warned, what might start as a mild interest in eels can lead to obsession!

Cost and booking

The FSC BioLinks project is funded by the Field Studies Council and National Lottery Heritage Fund. These Natural History webinars are made available to all at no cost. However, we've listened to your feedback and added an optional fee for those that would like the opportunity to contribute financially to our work to provide adult learning opportunities for a range of audiences. Register to attend on the FSC website.
