A free one-day symposium from the University of York's Department of Chemistry

The University of York's Department of Chemistry is hosting a free one-day symposium on intersectional inequities in research to bring together academics and stakeholders from across the UK. The meeting will explore how to achieve a more equitable research landscape over the next decade in a holistic way from the importance of a supportive and flexible working environment to fair research development, evaluation, and recognition processes.

STEM researchers from across the UK, from postdocs to senior academics in leadership roles, are invited to learn more about new initiatives and engage with representatives from funding bodies, professional institutions, publishers, charities, and industry through panel discussions and focus groups.

Registered attendees will have an option to attend one of four focus group discussions that will take place virtually prior to the symposium. These will allow for more targeted discussions on specific topics led by expert speakers and will be used to define key questions for our panellists to discuss at the main event.

Lunch is included, with additional optional networking sessions during the day. There will be an option to attend virtually for those who are unable to attend in person. More information about the venue, programme, speakers and other details can be found on the University of York event page.
