An online talk by Dr Simon Jeffery, reader in soil ecology at Harper Adams University

Dr Simon Jeffery, reader in soil ecology at Harper Adams University, will deliver his highly acclaimed talk The Life Beneath Our Feet online over Zoom.

Simon is a soil microbial ecologist with expertise in ecosystem function. His main interests include how soil organisms drive processes and functions across a range of scales from local to global and how we might harness these to the benefit of us all in terms of increasing the productivity and sustainability of our use of soils.

Soil degradation is currently one of the greatest threats to global civilization due to its potential impacts on food security. As such, soil health is an understudied and yet vitally important area of research. This lecture will delve into the unseen world beneath your feet to explore this fascinating and yet largely unknown world.
