The British Wildlife Centre was started in 1997 for the study of British wildlife and the education of the public regarding our native species. It now employs over 20 staff who, as well as being involved in caring for the animals, are also involved in breeding programmes for many of the less common British species.
The centre also manages 20 acres of former agricultural grazing land as a wetland, woodland and grassland habitat for the encouragement of a huge variety of wild birds, mammals and invertebrates.
