Summer outing and orchid hunt at the Portstewart Strand National Trust
Join us as we visit Portstewart Strand National Trust
to see the amazing sand dune system, an area of special scientific interest (ASSI), which was formed around 6,000 years ago, and where you can find dunes up to 98 feet (30m) high! The dunes behind the strand are a haven for wild flowers and butterflies, and host to a range of orchids including bee and pyramidal Orchids, which can be seen growing in their natural habitat.
Come along to the dune adventure with the National Trust ranger to discover why Portstewart Strand is very much more than just a beach!
Children and families are welcome. Please ensure outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear is worn.
