Online AGM and Charter Lecture for the Royal Society of Biology.

Our 2021 Annual General Meeting will take place online, and will include a Charter Lecture, presentation of the Trustee's Report and Accounts, and announcement of the new RSB President-elect.

Charter Lecture

This year's Charter Lecture will be delivered by Professor Stefan Przyborski FRSB, RSB Trustee and professor of cell technology in the Department of Biosciences at Durham University. The talk will be entitled Bioengineering Human Tissues in the Laboratory.

Stefan's training and background is in animal cell biology with specific interests in anatomy, tissue biology, cell differentiation and stem cells. Stefan holds a PhD in anatomy and physiology and subsequently completed a series of fellowships in the UK and US, before establishing himself at Durham University developing innovative approaches to producing human tissues in vitro.


The role of the Royal Society of Biology President-elect will formally commence following annoucement at the Annual General Meeting and the successful applicant will act as President-elect until the following year's AGM.

This year there were three vacancies on Council, two open to individual members and one to Member Organisations. and both closed on 10th March. The outcome of nominations, and any vote, will be announced at the AGM.

Members from all grades are welcome to attend the AGM online, but only those members at grades MRSB and above are entitled to vote. Up to two representatives from each Member Organisation of the Society can attend the AGM. Only full Member Organisations may vote and only one representative is entitled to vote.

Members at grades MRSB and above who are unable to attend are able to vote by proxy through mySociety, and can cast their vote up to 48 hours before the AGM.
