
Plant Health Professional Development Award
The 2025 award will be open from 11 November to 2 December 2025.
The Plant Health Professional Development Award is designed to support ambitious individuals working in plant health by offering a free route to official certification and career support. 15 awards are available for the 2025/26 application period. Recipients of the award will receive free membership to the Royal Society of Biology (RSB) for one year, and a free application to the Plant Health Professional Register (PHPR) which includes registration for the first year.
The PHPR provides independent recognition and validation of your plant health and biosecurity competencies, professional standing, and achievements. It is suitable for everyone working with plants, from sectors including: horticulture and crop industries, forestry, land management, the natural environment, plant science, and research.
Recipients of the Plant Health Professional Development Award will also receive tailored mentorship to support their PHPR application, and access to the RSB’s Plant Health Professional Register Associate Training.
The award is open to anyone who has been working in a plant health-related career for at least one to two years and is interested in applying to join the Plant Health Professional Register for the first time. To apply to the Plant Health Professional Development Award, please download and complete the application form. Completed forms along with your up-to-date CV must be submitted by email to registers@rsb.org.uk by 17:00 (GMT, London time) on 2 December 2025.
