Qualified Persons Register

Qualified Person status allows scientists to certify medicinal products and requires demonstration of specialised training and experience.

The UK pharmaceutical industry has high standards in the research, development, manufacturing and testing of its products. Qualified Persons ensure that each batch of a medicinal product has been manufactured or assembled and checked in accordance with the relevant licences, regulations and laws. The role is extremely important and this should be reflected in the calibre of applicant appointed to such a position.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) of the Department of Health, and the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) of the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), require the RSB, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and the Royal Society of Chemistry to assess the eligibility of their members for Qualified Person status.
We publish a quarterly newsletter to share relevant updates and information for the Qualified Persons Community. You can sign up to receive the newsletter here.
