The Annual General Meeting and Charter Lecture of the RSB
Our 2024
Annual General Meeting will take place on
Wednesday 8th May on
Zoom, and will include a Charter Lecture by Professor Dame Melanie Welham FRSB, RSB Council member, presentation of the Trustees' Report and Accounts.
Elections
Members from all grades are welcome to attend the AGM, but only those members at grades MRSB and above are entitled to vote. Up to two representatives from each
Member Organisation of the Society can attend the AGM. Only
Full Member Organisations may vote and only one representative is entitled to vote.
Members at grades MRSB will be able to vote online through
mySociety. Online voting is now open, and votes can be cast up to 48 hours before the AGM, with votes closing on Monday 6th May.
Council vacancies
We have two Council vacancies for one new member to be elected to each of the Colleges of Individual Members and Organisational Members. These appointments will be confirmed at our AGM. Nomination forms, role descriptions and further details are available on the
AGM webpage.
Agenda and papers
An
agenda for the meeting, as well as the draft
minutes from the 2023 Annual General Meeting are available to download. The
Annual Report and Accounts will also be formally approved during the meeting.
Charter Lecture
Professor Dame Melanie Welham FRSB, Trustee of the RSB Council, will delivery this year's Charter Lecture entitled 'reflections on... career paths, life at the science policy interface and opportunities for bioscience'.
Registration
Advance registration is essential through the link at the top of the page by Monday 6th May. Due to industrial action, the AGM is now
online only, with online votes prior to the event through
mySociety. Online voting is now open, and votes can be cast up to 48 hours before the AGM, with votes closing on Monday 6th May.
