Annual General Meeting 2017
Last year's Annual General Meeting was held Wednesday 10th May 2017 at Queen Mary University of London. It included a Charter Lecture, presentation of the Trustee’s Report and Accounts, election of new Trustees to the RSB Council, and a buffet lunch.
Over one hundred members and representatives from Member Organisations attended the AGM and Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow was announced as the next President of the Society, and will assume her role from May 2018. Full draft minutes can be downloaded.
Volunteering as a Trustee on the RSB Council is one of the best ways to help influence how the Royal Society of Biology delivers its charitable aims and acts as a unified voice for biology. This year there were two vacancies on Council, open to representatives of Member Organisations. Following a vote by the organisations, two new Council members will be elected at the AGM. Trustee role descriptions are available to download.
The following resolutions will be voted on by members at the upcoming Annual General Meeting:
- Approve the Annual Report and Accounts of the Society for the year October 2016 - September 2017.
- Authorisation for Council to appoint haysmacintyre as the Society’s auditors for the financial year October 2017 - September 2018 and to set their remuneration.
If you will not be able to attend the AGM but would like to vote on the above resolutions, please submit your vote via proxy to the Chief Executive no later than Monday 30 April. Forms are available to download for Individual Members (MRSB or FRSB grade) or full Member Organisations.
