Royal Society of Biology AGM
Annual General Meeting 2018
This year's Annual General Meeting was held Wednesday 2nd May 2018 at Charles Darwin House, London. It included a Charter Lecture, presentation of the Trustee’s Report and Accounts, election of new Trustees to the RSB Council, and a buffet lunch.
Over one hundred members and representatives from Member Organisations attended the AGM and Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow formally took up her role as the Society's new President. Draft minutes are available to download and will be formally approved at the next AGM in May 2019.
Volunteering as a Trustee on the RSB Council is one of the best ways to help influence how the Royal Society of Biology delivers its charitable aims and acts as a unified voice for biology. This year there were two vacancies on Council, open to representatives of Member Organisations. Following a vote by the organisations, Professor Yvonne Barnett and Professor Patricia Kuwabara were elected to the Society's Council. Trustee role descriptions are available to download.
The following resolutions were passed by members at the Annual General Meeting:
- Approval of the Annual Report and Accounts of the Society for the year October 2016 - September 2017.
- Authorisation for Council to appoint haysmacintyre as the Society’s auditors for the financial year October 2017 - September 2018 and to set their remuneration.
