Annual General Meeting 2017
This year's Annual General Meeting was held Wednesday 10th May 2017 at Queen Mary University of London. It included a Charter Lecture, presentation of the Trustee’s Report and Accounts, election of new Trustees to the RSB Council, and a buffet lunch.
Over one hundred members and representatives from Member Organisations attended the AGM and Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow was announced as the next President of the Society, and will assume her role from May 2018. Full draft minutes can be downloaded.
Volunteering as a Trustee on the RSB Council is one of the best ways to help influence how the Royal Society of Biology delivers its charitable aims and acts as a unified voice for biology. This year there were three vacancies on Council, two open to individual members and one for representatives of Member Organisations. The election results were announced at the AGM and full biographies of all new Trustees are now available. For information, Trustee role descriptions are available to download.
The following resolutions were approved by members at the Annual General Meeting:
- The financial accounts of the Society for the year October 2015 - September 2016.
- Authorisation for Council to appoint haysmacintyre as the Society’s auditors for the financial year October 2016 - September 2017 and to set their remuneration.
