DNA and flower

Having invested heavily in a bespoke membership system, which has been in operation since 2012, the RSB is able to offer a cost-effective way for professional membership organisations to enhance and streamline their membership offering and free up staff and committees to focus on strategic development work.

We have more than 80 Member Organisations, so clients are also able to take advantage of our overview and experience of the biosciences sector. Current clients include Genetics Society, British Society for Neuroendocrinology, British Lichen Society, British Society for Genetic Medicine, the International Society for Affective Disorders, the Anatomical Society, the Fisheries Society of the British Isles and the Freshwater Biological Association.

Our services include managing day-to-day administration of:

  • Committees
  • Finance (including Direct Debit, credit card payments, Gift Aid)
  • Grants
  • Membership
  • CPD
  • Events
  • Competitions
  • Website
  • Carrying out membership recruitment campaigns

More information can be found in our flyer.

Our membership support is underpinned by a members' portal – mySociety. This is a user-friendly website which allows the organisation's members to manage their individual record – from applying for membership, renewing, changing their journal and newsletter subscriptions, updating their address details, booking events – and other areas. This immediately updates the main database with any changes. Members would be taken to the portal from your existing website via a seamless link.

The RSB is also flexible in discussing your needs as an organisation and the various ways we can assist.
